Now that we're all getting settled in, I thought it might be nice if we introduce ourselves! So many lovely new faces, and I'm sure much has changed for those of us making a return as well.


So let's put this bulletin board to good use: Who are you?


And we should probably share a little tidbit about ourselves as well. A get-to-know each other--but nothing like those hellish corporate ice-breakers. You're absolutely not obligated to participate, of course, but it does seem like good fun, doesn't it?



I'll go first: My name is Mr. Fell; I love cocoa and long walks in the park, and I own a bookshop back home.

And I've never been to school before, but I'm really excited to get to meet people!

Hi there, my name is Lena Kaligaris. Nice to meet you, June.

I also have a little sister named Effie (there is an 18 month gap between us) back home, but she's not here as well.

Oh! I know a Lena back home too! It's nice to meet you!

That's too bad about your sister! Do you think Effie and May could show up sometime?

Oh, that's pretty interesting. I wonder what she is like?

Maybe there is a possibility that they may show up in Diatu someday. I just hope that she doesn't get a little nervous with handling magic.

Well, I was still getting to know her more before I came here, but she does seem pretty cool!

I kinda hope so. I've never done anything without May before. [ Not that they've done much, but details. ] Does Effie not like magic?

Well, let's just hope that your friend or your sister or both of them will might show up on the campus someday.

Eh, I'm not sure about that, but I do know that she's really into boys back home. She even flirted with some of the local boys in Santorini back in my world.

Yeah! I bet Lena would probably be really good at learning the magic here, since she has her own magic powers back home too!

Oh really? Where did she learn to flirt?

That is really amazing: having magic powers does sound really to have.

Oh boy, where to begin? My best guess is when as soon as she reached puberty like a lot of pre-teens in my world do. I think I lost of her constant flirting with the boys she've met already.

Right? Having magic previously would probably be an advantage here.

Oh, so she just learned how to flirt along the way?

[ June doesn't have too much interest in flirting, but it does seem like a "normal" thing to do. ]

Yeah, that is how she did it. And it does get me super worried for her at times since some of the boys she flirted with are a bit older than her.

Oh. Is that bad?

[ Most of the people she knows are technically older than her, so she doesn't quite understand the problem. ]

I guess that it must have been the protective older sister in me that have me worrying for her all the time. But maybe it is just me not knowing how to relax easily at times.

It's nice that you're worried about your sister, though! [ She likes knowing that families care about each other. ]

Did she ever date any of the boys she flirted with?

No so far, at least from what I have seen so far.

Oh. So how come she flirts with them if she doesn't date any of them?

[ Isn't that the whole point of it? ]

Our parents would have probably gotten mad at her if they find out that she's dating some of the boys without them knowing beforehand, especially my dad: he's a little strict than most dads would be.

Really? What are dads usually like about that kinda thing?

[travelpants]

My dad's more on the old fashioned kind of parents. Strict, conservative, and maybe overprotective at times.

Back in my world, some parents can be little bit hard on their kids when they grow up to have crushes and have a romantic interest on whoever fancies them the most, mostly out of concern for their kids' well-being or safety. Some more so than the rest and my dad can be that at times.

Oh I see! I think some dads are like that where I come from too, at least from what I've heard.

Agreed. Parents can react to the same things regardless of which world they may be in.

That's what I've heard! I wouldn't know though.

Thanks! I'm kind of excited to get to go to school like regular kids do! But I will probably need some help since I've never done it before, so it's nice knowing there are people who can help.
