new bulletin board, who dis?
[That title is absolutely not ic or present at all ok. This angel is NOT that cool.]
Now that we're all getting settled in, I thought it might be nice if we introduce ourselves! So many lovely new faces, and I'm sure much has changed for those of us making a return as well.
So let's put this bulletin board to good use: Who are you?
And we should probably share a little tidbit about ourselves as well. A get-to-know each other--but nothing like those hellish corporate ice-breakers. You're absolutely not obligated to participate, of course, but it does seem like good fun, doesn't it?
I'll go first: My name is Mr. Fell; I love cocoa and long walks in the park, and I own a bookshop back home.

CW: vague reference to death
Mm. I had a father with a lot of resources, and not a lot of capacity to accept the end. So he uploaded everything he could of me into a computer.
A computer is unfortunately not a person, and the creations of a computer are far from comparable to the real world, but regardless, a computer I stayed for a number of years.
no subject
A person can be recorded onto a computer? I know someone capable of traveling phone lines, but trapped in a computer. I am terribly sorry you went through that. It sounds awful. Very glad to see you about in the non-digital world once again.
CW: talk of death, acceptance of it
And yes, more or less. I'm pretty sure it's not possible in most realities, but in the same way, it was possible to have someone temporarily uploaded there, without removing connection to the body- the body of course would still house their mind, soul...in that case, you still have capacity for emotion.
But yes, I was quite...hm. Well honestly I'd just finished accepting death when I found myself here so it took a bit before actually appreciating it kicked in. But I'm quite glad to be here in a non-digital world yes!
